My approach to acupuncture

I trained at The Acupuncture Academy, where I completed a three‑year Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board.

My training included both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medical sciences such as anatomy, biomedicine, and clinical practice, with a particular focus on Five Element Acupuncture. This approach looks not only at physical symptoms, but also at emotional patterns and deeper influences that may be shaping health.

I am also a member of the British Acupuncture Council, reflecting my commitment to professional standards, ethical practice, and continued development.

How I understand health

In Chinese medicine, health is not seen as a fixed state, but as an ongoing process of balance, movement, and adaptation.

The body is constantly responding to internal and external demands. When its natural capacity to regulate becomes strained or disrupted, signs of imbalance begin to appear. These can be physical, emotional, or sometimes simply a more general sense that something is not quite right.

Acupuncture is not a quick fix, although responses can sometimes be quite rapid. A very fine needle, placed with care and precision, invites the body to reconnect with its own capacity to regulate and restore balance.

Many people come to acupuncture only after carrying difficulties for a long time. Yet the sooner an imbalance is addressed, the more fluid the process of rebalancing can be — and it is never too late to begin, as support can be valuable at any stage.

The aim of treatment is not simply to suppress symptoms, but to support the body’s natural capacity to recover balance, resilience, and a greater sense of ease.

What I offer

I work with a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Chronic pain such as back pain, neck tension, migraines, joint pain, persistent tendinitis, and TMJ discomfort.
  • Sleep difficulties, including trouble falling asleep, waking during the night, or unrefreshing sleep.
  • Stress, anxiety, exhaustion, burnout, and long‑term strain.
  • Digestive issues such as bloating, IBS, and sluggish digestion.
  • Women’s health concerns, including painful periods, PMS, fertility support, and care before or during pregnancy.
  • Ongoing fatigue, brain fog, or a general sense of being out of balance.

Every treatment is tailored to the individual, taking into account not only the symptoms, but also the deeper pattern beneath them.

Complementary techniques

Alongside acupuncture, I may also use complementary techniques when appropriate, including:

  • Moxibustion (Moxa) — gentle warmth used to strengthen, nourish, and encourage movement where needed.
  • Cupping — used to release muscular tension, improve circulation, and support recovery.
  • Gua Sha — used to reduce tightness, encourage flow, and ease stagnation.

These methods are always adapted to your needs and used only when relevant to your treatment.

What to expect in a session?

The first appointment lasts two‑hours. This is a deliberate choice, allowing enough time to explore your health as a whole and build a full picture of your health.

This first session usually includes:

  • A detailed consultation, where we explore your current symptoms, past history, sleep, digestion, and stress levels.
  • Your first acupuncture treatment, tailored to what we have discussed.

There will also be time to ask questions and to reflect on whether this approach feels right for you.

Follow‑up sessions usually last around one hour and typically begin with a brief check‑in about how you have been since the last visit, followed by your treatment.

Sessions are available in English, French, and Arabic, allowing you to express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you. You are warmly welcomed in whichever feels most like home.
